How to Use This CPC Calculator
Fill in any two of the three fields — Total Spend, Clicks, and CPC — and the third calculates instantly. You don't need to decide which direction you're solving ahead of time.
Example: A Google Search campaign spent $1,000 and received 400 clicks. Enter spend = $1,000 and clicks = 400. The calculator shows CPC = $2.50.
Budget planning: Enter your planned budget (spend) and a target CPC, and the calculator estimates how many clicks you can expect. For example, $5,000 at a $3.00 CPC yields approximately 1,667 clicks.
This Google Ads calculator works for any platform — Search, Display, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok. To calculate CPC from a campaign report, paste in your spend and click totals and the result appears immediately. All calculations happen in your browser; nothing you enter is transmitted or stored.
The CPC Formula Explained
Total Spend — the amount billed by the ad platform for the campaign period. Use actual billed spend, not budget.
Total Clicks — the number of times users clicked your ad. Most platforms deduplicate rapid repeat clicks.
CPC — what you paid, on average, each time someone clicked. Google Ads and Meta report this as "Avg. CPC."
Worked example: Campaign spend = $2,400. Clicks = 960.
CPC = $2,400 ÷ 960 = $2.50
PPC Cost Estimator — What Will My Budget Buy?
Estimating PPC cost is the flip side of the CPC formula. Instead of measuring past performance, you use a known or expected CPC to forecast what a budget will deliver. Enter your target spend and the average CPC you expect (based on historical data or industry benchmarks), and the calculator gives you the estimated click volume.
Example: Budget = $10,000. Expected CPC based on last quarter = $3.75.
Estimated clicks = $10,000 ÷ $3.75 = 2,667 clicks.
Combine this with your historical conversion rate to project leads or sales: 2,667 clicks × 3% CVR = ~80 conversions.
What Is a Good CPC? Benchmarks by Channel

| Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) | $0.94 | $0.40–$3.00 |
| LinkedIn Ads | $5.26 | $2.00–$15.00 |

Common CPC Mistakes
- Confusing CPC with CPM. CPC is cost per click; CPM is cost per thousand impressions. Use our CPM calculator when buying on an impression basis.
- Using budget instead of actual spend. If a $1,000 budget only spent $840, your true CPC is based on $840 — not $1,000.
- Ignoring click quality. A low CPC from Display traffic is not comparable to a low CPC from branded Search. Always segment by campaign type.
- Forgetting about conversion rate. A $1.50 CPC is only cheap if those clicks convert. Evaluate CPC alongside CPA using our CPM and conversion data.
- Mixing manual and smart bidding CPC figures. Target CPA or Max Conversions campaigns may report an Avg. CPC that doesn't reflect manual bid caps — always check the bidding strategy before benchmarking.
